About Kappa Lambda of Kappa Sigma
On March 17, 2004, Clayton Albright, the Area I Recruiter for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity came to Shippensburg University in hopes to re-colonize the dormant Kappa Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. This chapter had existed at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania from April 1969 till 1999 when it was stripped of its Charter because a few Brothers lost sight of their goals. The national headquarters agreed with this move in hopes that one day they could return to Shippensburg to thrive once again. With the help and backing of a dedicated group of Alumni, and the approval from the national headquarters, Kappa Lambda was allowed to be re-colonized.

Within a month, the efforts of a few interested people resulted in the first Kappa Lambda pledge class of twenty-six men. Pledged by Clay Albright on April 16, 2004 this core group of men set their goals for re-colonization and disbanded for the Summer in hopes of returning in the Fall to be bigger and better than ever. Adding more members to their growing group, Kappa Lambda reached more then forty members by mid-winter, and accomplishing all of the colonization requirements the Colony petitioned the Supreme Executive Committee for their Charter, which was approved and the first Initiations were on April 16, 2005 - exactly one year from the date the first men were pledged.

Never changing their sights from their original goals to raise the level upon which Fraternities are judged by on Shippensburg's campus, Kappa Lambda continues to follow the four Cornerstones of Kappa Sigma, and are diligent in their commitment to making the Star and Crescent the pride of Shippensburg University!
